How does your state measure up on behavioral health?
New Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Report Tracks the Behavioral Health of America. The “National Behavioral Health Barometer” (Barometer) provides data about key indicators of behavioral health problems such as rates of serious mental illness, suicidal thoughts, substance abuse, underage drinking, and the percentages of people seeking treatment for these disorders. The report shows data at the national level, but also provides a comprehensive report for each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
For folks interested in Behavioral Health, this report offers valuable insight into where we need to focus treatment strategies and community outreach programs.
